Wolf was the first Marquette player drafted by an ABA team, when New York selected him in the fifth round of the 1967 draft. Wolf was also selected in the seventh round of the NBA draft (70th overall) by the Chicago Bulls, but never logged minutes in either league.

Following graduation in 1967, Wolf played professionally in Italy for a year, then entered the Army. He was a starting guard on the All-Service Team that won the national AAU title.
