High School Career

Carlton was coached by Greg Shirley and was the first four-year starter in the history of the program, as well as the first player to play all five positions. He played the majority of his senior season at the point guard spot and ended the year averaging 12 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.6 blocks per game, leading his squad to 24 victories and a berth in the regional finals of the state tournament.

Carlton scored 22 points in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game in March of 2003
