Lazar Hayward was assigned for three days to the Tulsa 66ers and saw action on March 2 and 3, but Buycks was sidelined with an ankle injury at the time.

2012 Telenet Oostende (Belgium)

Buycks had 4.6 ppg and 1.6 rpg in 14 games helping Oostende to win the Ethias League title.

2012 NBA Summer League (Orlando and Las Vegas)

Buycks played for the Oklahoma City Thunder at Orlando Summer League where he had 5.7 ppg over 3 games. In Las Vegas, he appeared four times with the San Antonio Spurs averaging 5.5 points and 1.5 assists.

2012-13 Gravelines-Dunkerque (France)

Buycks had one of his best professional seasons as he was named LNB Player of the Month in December and January.

During the 2012-13 season, he played in 32 games for Gravelines-Dunkerque with the following averages: 32.0 mpg, 18.0 ppg, 48.6 2FG%, 38.5 3FG%, 78.0 FT%, 3.2 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.5 spg, and 2.2 TOPG.

Additionally, Gravelines participated in the 2012-13 EuroChallenge Playoffs. Buycks scored 30 points vs Kataja to power his team into the Final Four with a 102-98 victory. But Gravelines would fall to the eventual EuroChallenge Champion, Krasnie Krilya, on a 78-81 decision (Buycks with 20 points), and later to EWE Baskets in the 3rd place game, 76-84 (Buycks with 13 points). Buycks played in 16 games and averaged 15.3 ppg, 60.7% 2FG, 33.8 3FG%, 83.1 FT%, 2.8 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.2 spg, and 2.8 TOPG.

As a result of a successful French campaign, he was nominated for the Pro A Abroad MVP trophy and earned the nickname “The European Derrick Rose” for his quickness and ball skills.
