Led Marquette in scoring during the 1948-49 season (12.7 ppg) and also served as team captain that year.


===== Professional Career =====

In 1950, McCabe began to play for the Caterpillar basketball team in Peoria. He would play for a total of threes years as one of the dominant players of the Caterpillar AAU team.

===== Accolades =====

  * Played with Bob Kurland (Basketball HOF, '61) and Clyde Lovellette (Basketball HOF, '88) on the Olympic team.
