High School Career
Entered the 2007-08 season Virginia Independent Schools Division I state tournament as the second leading scorer in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools (TCIS). He scored 22 points - 18 in the second half - in an opening round loss to Hargrave Military Academy.
He was named to the Virginia Independent Schools (Division I) all-state boys basketball Honorable Mention list.

“A left handed 2, 3 combination, Donte wants to get to the rim offensively. He needs to improve from the perimeter but rebounds well for his size and can push it or give it up and run the floor for an easy basket.
Donte is a very good athlete. Based on his most recent evaluation I think he is a 2/3 guy that could fill in at the 1 in a pinch. He's an exellent finisher and a streaky three-point shooter. His athleticism alone puts him at the mid-major level.”
