Krueger quit the team in the midst of a seven-game losing streak during the [[1949|1949-50]] season, claiming he wasn't being played often enough.  Krueger also played on the football team and Coach [[Bill Chandler]] claimed his late start on the court hampered his efforts to reach his stride.
