Bunche, in Canton, Georgia, where he was the leading scorer and rebounder on a team that lost only one game in his junior year. Eddie Mathews and [[Al McGuire]] were neighbors in Brookfield and the Atlanta Braves third baseman helped Al recruit Thomas.
