North Star Conference (NSC)

The Midwestern Collegiate Conference kicked off their inaugural season in 1984 with six NCAA Division I schools. The charter members included DePaul, Detroit, Evansville, Loyola (IL), Notre Dame and Xavier (OH).

In 1985, Dayton joined the league.

Marquette entered the conference in 1986 as Detroit, Evansville, Loyola (IL) and Xavier (OH) left. But Marquette's tenure with the league was also short-lived as they exited the league after the 1988-89 season.

Other teams joined after Marquette's departure and some stayed until the league's disbandment in 1992: Akron, Cleveland State, Illinois-Chicago, Northern Illinois, Valparaiso and Wisconsin-Green Bay. Six of the remaining teams eventually moved to the Mid-Continent Conferece.
