Wisconsin Mr. Basketball

Each year the Wisconsin Mr. Basketball award is given to the person chosen as the best high school boys basketball player in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, in the United States. The award has been given since 1982. Winners are chosen by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association at the time of their annual All-State selections. Voting is done by a panel of retired WBCA members that select the winner after receiving nomination information and reviewing film on each candidate. Only those in the senior class are eligible to win in Wisconsin.

  • After signing to play at North Carolina State, 1999 Wisconsin Mr. Basketball Marshall Williams (Milwaukee Vincent) returned home to Milwaukee after transferring to Marquette. However, he never suited up and transferred to Vincennes JC.
  • Fischer committed to Indiana then transferred mid-year to Marquette.

Wisconsin Ms. Basketball

The award has been given since 1983. Winners are chosen by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association at the time of their annual All-State selections. Voting is done by the members of the WBCA. Each member can vote and the winner is determined by the player with the most votes. Coaches may not put votes in for players on their own team. If it is done anyway, the vote is thrown out.
