buycks_wby.jpg Four-year starter and letterwinner at Bay View High School … concluded his career with 1,312 points, the first player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark … Associated Press First Team All-State honoree as a senior under head coach Kyle Brokmeier … averaged 19.9 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game that season … was also named all-state by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association … tabbed all-conference and all-city each of his final two campaigns at Bay View … named to the all-league squad each of his four seasons … named to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel all-state rosters in 2005-06 and 2006-07 … played under Bill Jones his first three seasons … voted the top AAU player in the state and helped DTA to the state title.

First Team NJCAA All-America selection at Indian Hills Community College in 2008-09 under head coach Jeff Kidder … finished with 1,254 points in two years, the third-best mark in school history … helped squad to 58-13 record during his tenure, including a league title, conference tournament championship and national tourney appearance … two-time first team all-region honoree … averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game as a sophomore … led the team in scoring, assists and steals … shot 50.8 percent from the field and 79.0 percent from the free throw line … Warriors finished the season ranked No. 2 in the nation and were top-five all season … posted season averages of 17.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per outing as a freshman … tabbed honorable mention All-America by the NJCAA … Warriors finished sixth at the NJCAA national tournament in 2007-08, collecting a 28-10 overall record … started all 71 games of his career and reached double figures in scoring in 65 of those outings.

Lazar Hayward was assigned for three days to the Tulsa 66ers and saw action on March 2 and 3, but Buycks was sidelined with an ankle injury at the time.
