Bob Dukiet (“The Piano Man”) coached Marquette from 1986-89, and had a dismal 39-46 record before being replaced by Kevin O'Neill.

Prior to coming to Marquette, Dukiet coached at St. Peter's from 1979-1986.

Dukiet, who starred for Bob Cousy at Boston College, graduated cum laude in 1970 with a degree in fianance, and was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dukiet came to Marquette highly recommended. A few of those who contacted Hank Raymonds (MU's AD at the time) were Hubie Brown of the NY Knicks, Billy Packer of CBS, and Jud Heathcote of Michigan State.
