Duffy was a four-year letter winner at Marquette High School, where he picked up a state title as a junior, on a team that finished the season at 21-3. As a senior, he shot 50% from the field and 48% from three-point range, earning honorable mention recognition on the all-area team during after his senior year. MUHS finished with a 16-5 record during Duffy's senior year, while Duffy averaged 14 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Patrick also earned three letters in football and was an all-conference pick his senior season.
