Marquette Career

High School Career

Began his high school career at Macomb Dakota in Michigan before transferring to Oak Hill prior to his Junior season.

Analysis

Evaluation January, 2009: Bryant has very good athleticism, quickness, and leaping ability, all of which allows him to play in the post and guard opposing power forwards. Bryant approaches the defensive task with vigor and plays good position defense as well as having success as a shot-blocker coming from the weak-side or as an on-ball shot blocker. However, if he intends to play the 4 on a full-time basis, he will have to get significantly stronger and add more muscle to his wiry frame. He seems best suited to play the 3, given his frame and height, but he has to do a good amount of work on his ball skills to play as a small forward on a full-time basis. Bryant will connect on 3s if left unattended on the wing, but he needs to improve his touch and consistency from the perimeter. He also needs to become a better ball-handler, which will allow him to drive past opponents and use his good quickness and leaping ability to get into the paint. He has decent vision and plays a very unselfish game, looking to pass to open teammates. Bryant rebounds the ball at both ends very well and gains extra scoring chances for his team through his offensive rebounding prowess.

December, 2008: This long and lean athlete plays above the rim in transition. Bryant is a threat to catch a highlight film lob pass when he sprints the floor. He is also extremely versatile. He can play both forward positions and even center in a pinch. He shooting range is to about 15-17 feet at best but is more of a factor on offense around the basket. Although he needs strength Bryant finishes through contact at the rim. His good hands and quick leaping ability help him score from drop off passes created from guard penetration. He must continue to work on his skills to be an affective perimeter player but on defense he contributes with rebounding on both ends of the floor and shot blocking. Bryant's best playing days are ahead of him if he continues to improve.

June, 2008: Glenn is a long, thin and athletic combo forward. He has the body of a wing forward but the game of a power forward. His game is based on athleticism at this point. He is explosive but needs skill work. He is a solid rebounder but can be pushed out of position by stronger forwards. He can face up and hit shots out to 17 feet but is more effective closer to the basket. He is a decent shotblocker and can be a lock down defender but needs to be more consistent with his effort and concentration. Glenn is a project but has very good tools to work with. He definitely needs to either get stronger and/or increase his skill base. He is originally from Michigan (Detroit area) and transferred to Oak Hill for his junior year.
