Michael Dixon received strong interest from Marquette University shortly after newly appointed coach Buzz Williams began recruiting. On June 25th 2008, Dixon named his top 5 schools, and Marquette was not among them. Currently Dixon has little interest in MU.
UPDATE: Dixon committed to Missouri on July 31st 2008. He choose the Tigers over Arizona, Cal, Purdue, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas State, and Wake Forest.

Dixon is a pure point guard with a great feel for the game. He really has the ability to make others around him better and he has very good leadership abilities. Dixon is very thin and needs to add weight to his frame. He is a good shooter and he is capable of making shots when left open. He rarely forces the action, but he will sometimes try to do a little too much off the dribble. He is best when he is running a team and letting the game come to him. Dixon has the ability to break down the defense and get in the lane and he also has a chance to become a very good defender once he gets stronger. Weight gain and taking mid-range shots off the dribble are areas for Dixon to continue to work on.
Mike is a quick and athletic point guard. He is a very good decision maker. He can get to the basket to score or create for team mates. He is a good shooter from 19 feet and in. He is a good defender and competitor. Mike is a top 40 player nationally in the 2009 class. -ESPN.COM
