ESPN Evaluation

September, 2008: After a pedestrian spring campaign, Morgan displayed flashes during the summer evaluation period why he should be a coveted recruit. During the spring, he appeared to be out of shape and played very uninspired basketball. However, in the summer he showed a greater urgency to attack the basket instead of settling for his jump shot. Morgan has a solid frame, but it's a tad too soft (needs to hit the weight room) for the highest level. His main strength is his soft shooting stroke that has range out to the stripe. As his mid-range game continues to improve, he could become one of the most complete offensive forces in the west. He has a tremendous knack to score and has a lot of room to grow as well, particularly in the areas of rebounding and defense. If his desire continues to increase to be the best player he can become, there is no reason why Morgan shouldn't be playing at the high-major level.

April, 2008: Morgan has a solid upside for the next level due to his soft shooting touch out to the stripe. His frame is solid with long arms and overall good length. His game is still developing as he is strictly a jump shooter at this stage. He needs to be much more aggressive at both ends (doesn't play real hard), continue to refine his ball skills, and overall feel for the game if he's to reach his potential.

October, 2007: Morgan was arguably the top two-guard prospect at this event (2007 Fullcourt Press All Frosh/Soph Camp). He has a terrific frame and some impressive lineage (father Winston played for Indiana in the 1980's). What stands out the most – other than his lengthy physique – is his stoic court demeanor. He plays the game at an effortless pace and possesses all the skills and savvy to be a high-major recruit down the road. He's deceptively quick in the open court and has an explosive first step to the basket – had a number of impressive finger-rolls along the baseline. He's not afraid to mix-it-up underneath and overall he is a solid rebounder. His jumpshot is streaky (needs to bring that elbow in) out to the stripe and he rarely forces the action off the bounce. In addition, he made a number of savvy passes in the open court. With continued development, Morgan projects to being one of the top shooting guards in the country by the time he's a senior.
