Inducted into the University of Nebraska, Omaha Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993.
Inducted into the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.

Inducted into the Creighton Hall of Fame in 2008.

Marquette Career

Led Marquette in points after touchdown in both 1950 and 1951. Was rewarded by selection to play in the annual Blue-Gray College All-Star game in 1951.

Post-Marquette Career

Leahy returned to Creighton Prep as a coach (head coach for 17 years) and ran a storied program. Under Leahy, Prep's pass-run oriented teams would win eight state championships (the second most by any coach in state history), and four of them went unbeaten. During 1952-72 at Prep, Leahy won 118 games and his teams amassed a .787 winning percentage.

After serving as the director of coliseum activities at Ak-Sar-Ben, Leahy suited up as the athletic director at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. After 11 successful years, he left UNO and became Creighton's athletic director until 1990.

He then returned to UNO in 1995 to help start their Division I hockey program. Leahy reduced his role to assistant athletic director in 1997.
