2008

Viola saw action in all 29 matches, and played in 110 sets out of a possible 111…served mainly as a defensive specialist but also filled in for two matches as the team's setter…finished third on the squad with 202 digs for an average of 1.84 per set… in her limited time as a setter, Viola ended the season second on the team with 89 assists…highest dig total of the year came against Greeen Bay (Sept. 13) when she recorded 20…also recorded her first career double-double at Western Michigan on Nov. 28 with 20 assists and 10 digs.

2007

Viola played in all 101 games, finishing third on the team with 272 total digs for an average of 2.69 per game…accounted for double-digit digs in 14 matches, including a collegiate-best 26 digs against South Dakota State (Nov. 24)…recorded 16 kills and 102 total attacks on the year with a season-high three kills and eight attacks coming against Houston Baptist (Sept. 15)… tallied 27 total assists, including a then career-high five against Houston Baptist…second on the team with 27 aces and established a new career-high of five aces at West Virginia (Oct. 28).

2006

Viola played in 27 matches as a freshman for the Golden Eagles…registered three aces in 3-1 defeat of Gardner-Webb (Aug. 26)…tallied a then-career-best 14 digs in 3-2 victory over Stony Brook (Sept. 16)…continuing to improve, Viola recorded 21 digs, a then career high, in 3-2 defeat of Cincinnati (Sept. 22).

St. Joseph's High School:

Viola was a four-year letterwinner for St. Joseph's, becoming the first player in school history to earn first team all-conference honors in back-to-back seasons in 2004-05 while helping her team to become regional champions…was also third team all-state selection in 2005 – the first player in school history to do so…set school records for kills (1,020) and aces (230) for her career and a single season best 120 aces in 2005…named team MVP three consecutive years (2003-05) and was a two-time team captain (2004-05)…was a second team all-conference selection in 2003…earned three letters as a member of the basketball and soccer teams.

Personal

Viola was born in Kenosha, Wis., to Darrell and Kathy Viola…the sister of Mandy, Lee and Dreu…father played football at Drake University and her brother Dreu played football at Wis.-La Crosse…majoring in marketing.
