Though he attended two different high schools and a preparatory school during his prep career, Brennan never averaged less than 14 points per game.

As a junior for Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, Brennan led his team to an 18-5 record and league title. He also scored 32 points in a game.

During his senior year at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, Florida, he was named the MVP of the Orlando Holiday Tournament.

Brennan attended Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, Virginia, before attending Marquette.

Brennan was a starting guard for the Frosh Team and helped them compile a 15-1 record.

He played in 13 games averaging 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds a game.
