High School Career

A three-year starter at Washington High School in Milwaukee, he was a 1997-98 USA Today All-USA Honorable Mention team for the state of Wisconsin. Jackson averaged 17.4 points and 8.7 boards and captured first-team all-state honors as picked by both the Associated Press and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Scored 1,200 points during his career, including 430 as a junior.

Collegiate Career

Mississippi State

As a freshman in 1998-99, he came off the bench in 33 contests and averaged 13.1 minutes … Averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest … Scored in double figures in seven games.

During the 1999-2000 season, he tossed in 12.3 points and grabbed a team-high 7.0 rebounds … Started 23 of the 28 games he saw action in … Ranked 18th among SEC players in scoring, ninth in rebounding and fifth in offensive rebounds (3.43 orpg) … Led MSU or tied for team honors eight times and in rebounding on 13 occasions … Six double doubles to his credit … Notched double digits in scoring in 18 games … Scored a career-best 27 points vs. Tennessee (2/6/00) while registering a career-best 18 boards vs. Auburn (1/16/00) … 24 points and 14 rebounds in a home date vs. Arkansas.

As a junior at Mississippi State during the 2000-01 season, he started 24 of 25 contests and ranked first on the club in rebounding (7.3 rpg), fourth in scoring (11.3 ppg) and first in field goal percentage (.545) … His rebound average placed him ninth among SEC players and he stood second in offensive rebounds (3.84 orpg) … Posted 17 games of double-figure scoring and compiled eight double doubles … Led or shared for the team lead in rebounding in nine outings including 13-carom performances against California (11/13/00) and Alabama (1/13/01) … Another 13-board effort vs. Mississippi Valley State (11/21/00).
