Son of Tom Brennan, a long-time recruiter for Coach Al McGuire.

High School Career

Though he attended two different high schools and a preparatory school during his prep career, Brennan never averaged less than 14 points per game.

As a junior for Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, Brennan led his team to an 18-5 record and league title. He also scored 32 points in a game.

During his senior year at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, Florida, he was named the MVP of the Orlando Holiday Tournament.

Brennan attended Frederick Military Academy in Portsmouth, Virginia, before attending Marquette.

Marquette Career

1971-72 Season (Frosh Team)

Buchmann was the second leading scorer and tied for best in rebounding with Earl Tatum. He also led the team in field goal percentage and had a season-high 26 points against Rock Valley Junior College. Buchmann also turned in other impressive offensive performances: 24 points versus UW-Parkside J.V. and Northern Michigan J.V., as well as 23 points against UW-Oshkosh and Olive-Harvey Junior College.
