High School Career

Was a standout at Mercy High School, gaining All-Conference and All-District honors in both his junior and senior years and All-State honors as a senior.

Junior College Career

Scored 1,184 points in two years of junior college competition at Moberly, Missouri. During his last year, he led the Greyhounds to a high national ranking through the season and the runner-up spot in the National Junior College Tournament at Hutchinson, Kansas. Gained All-Conference honors for both years at Moberly J.C. and was named to the All-Regional team in his last season.

Marquette Career

One of the top scorers in the junior college ranks the last two years before committing to Marquette. Has shown that he can provide the Warriors with something they need badly - a backcourt man who can score from the outside with consistency.

Joe averaged 12 points per game during the 1963-64 season.

Personal Notes

Brother Jack Mimlitz played for Coach Eddie Hickey at St. Louis and ranks as one of the top 25 scorers in Billiken history.
